I am a social psychologist and a solution-focused therapist, and I am currently studying integrative psychotherapy at the University of Eastern Finland.
I am seeing clients in Sörnäinen, Helsinki.
I have worked as a crisis worker with young people and young adults for over ten years, and I have also worked as a therapist both in Finland and in Canada. My approach is integrative, and I have completed several trainings in therapy, crisis work, and helping professions. In Canada, I studied narrative therapy, and in Finland, I completed solution-focused psychotherapy training.
Therapy offers a space where you can build a connection with yourself and with what is meaningful to you. The aim is not only to solve problems, but to create new understandings, new actions, and a new relationship with yourself and others — as a result of which the problems and your relationship to them change. The goal is to build a good, functional life that suits you. The therapy I offer is practical and wide-ranging, and at times it can be a challenging process of working with yourself.
Therapy is a well-researched way of working with mental health and has been shown to have positive effects on mental health challenges. For therapy to be effective it needs to suit you and your preferences. This is important when choosing a therapist and is also important to follow up on during the therapy process. I strive to make it easy to bring up also things that don't work in therapy. Your therapy process is for you, and we will work together to help you get the most out of it.
